Porta Potty Rental Questions and Answers
The questions callers ask us most, answered in plain terms. Pick a topic or scroll.
Phones answered Mon–Sat, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Most callers get an itemized price on the first call.
Delivery and timing
Can you bring a porta potty out today?
Same-day delivery is open on most days in St. Charles County and nearby St. Louis County when you call by early afternoon. Farther towns often get same-day with a morning call; otherwise first thing the next morning.
How quickly can a last-minute porta john get here?
Within a few hours on many weekdays near St. Charles. The dispatcher gives you a time window on the call, and the driver calls ahead before arriving.
What time will the driver arrive?
Drivers run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You get a delivery window when you book and a call from the driver before arrival. A preferred time can be noted, and we work around it when the route allows.
How much lead time do you need?
A day or two covers most standard units. Book wheelchair-accessible units 7 to 10 days ahead for weekends, deluxe units 3 to 6 weeks ahead, and restroom trailers 1 to 3 months ahead for wedding season.
How far in advance can I book?
Book as far ahead as you like; wedding trailers are often reserved months out. Changes are free up to 24 hours before delivery.
If I call back tomorrow, will the unit still be there?
Standard units usually are. Weekend trailers and accessible units can book out, so a quick card hold is the safe move for popular dates.
Do you deliver to rural addresses and open land?
We deliver to farms, acreage, raw land and fields. Send a map pin or describe the nearest crossroad, gate and landmark.
Can I text you a pin drop for a field with no address?
A map pin works well. Send it with a note about where the truck should enter the field.
Where are you dispatched from?
Every truck leaves our yard in St. Charles, Missouri. We are the company that owns, delivers and services the units, not a broker.
Weekend delivery and pickup
Do you pick up on Sundays?
Pickups run Monday through Saturday. A weekend unit is picked up Monday, or the next business day after a holiday.
Can you drop off Saturday and pick up Sunday?
For weekend events we deliver Friday and pick up Monday at the same price. That way nothing shows up late or during the party.
Does an early delivery cost more?
Delivery the day before is built into the event price. A Friday drop for a Saturday party costs nothing extra.
If you deliver early and I only need it one day, am I charged for more days?
You pay one event price. The extra days on either side of the event are free.
Do I need to be home for pickup?
You do not. Leave the gate unlocked or give us the code, and the driver texts when the unit is gone.
Prices and what is included
Is there a free quote?
Quotes are free. Call (636) 200-9910 for a price on the first call, or send the short form.
How much does a porta potty cost for one day?
Typical 2026 event quotes run about $175 to $300 for a standard unit with delivery and pickup. A day, a weekend and three days around a weekend all cost the same event price.
Is delivery extra?
Delivery and pickup is one line on the quote, covering both trips, for the whole order. Some quotes list it inside the unit price, some separately; the total includes it either way.
Is delivery charged for each unit or each way?
Neither. One delivery and pickup charge covers every unit going to the same address.
What is the total out-the-door price?
Every quote ends with one total that includes the unit, delivery, pickup, service, any rush charge and tax. That is the amount charged.
Will extra fees show up when I pay?
No fuel surcharge or service fee is added after the quote. If a same-day rush charge applies, you hear it on the call before you pay.
Why does same-day cost more than next-day?
Same-day can mean pulling a driver off a planned route. When that happens there is a rush charge, quoted up front. Next-day has none.
Is it cheaper if I rent two?
The second unit shares the delivery charge, so two units cost less per unit than one.
Do nonprofits and churches pay sales tax?
Send a tax-exemption certificate with the booking and we remove sales tax.
Do you price-match?
Send the written quote. If it covers the same unit, dates and service, we tell you honestly whether we can match it.
Do you take cash?
Bookings are paid by card. Approved business accounts can be invoiced.
Rental length
Do you rent by the hour or the day?
We rent by the event or by the 28-day cycle, not by the hour. A few-hour party pays one event price.
What are your rental terms: weekend, week or month?
Events cover the day before through the next business day. Anything longer bills in 28-day cycles with weekly service.
Is there a one-month minimum for job sites?
Job-site and remodel rentals bill one 28-day cycle at a time. A 1-week remodel pays one cycle, since delivery, service and pickup cost the same.
Is a two-week rental the same price as a month?
Two weeks and four weeks are both one 28-day cycle. The price is the same.
Is there a long-term rate for six months or a year?
After the first cycle, each cycle costs less because delivery is already paid. Ask about a set rate for year-round business use.
Is a 'month' 30 days?
Our cycle is 28 days. Your quote shows the billing dates.
Cleaning and servicing
How often do you clean it?
Monthly rentals get one service per week: pump the tank, clean the seat, walls and floor, deodorize, and restock toilet paper and sanitizer.
Is it cheaper without weekly service?
Weekly service is part of the 28-day price, so skipping it saves nothing. Light-use units can switch to every-other-week service.
Can we do biweekly or monthly cleaning?
Every-other-week service works for one or two light users, such as a cabin. Monthly service is too long for safe, sanitary use.
Do you restock toilet paper and sanitizer?
Each service restocks 2 rolls of paper and the sanitizer dispenser. Ask for extra rolls for heavy-use sites.
Do you put chemicals in after pumping?
After pumping, the tank gets a fresh charge of deodorizing blue chemical and water, which controls odor until the next visit.
Where does the waste go?
Drivers haul waste to permitted treatment facilities that accept it, as Missouri rules require for hauled sewage. Illinois loads go to approved facilities under 77 Ill. Adm. Code 905.170.
Can I add an extra cleaning?
Call and we schedule an extra pump-and-clean visit, priced per visit.
Unit types
What is the difference between standard and the one with the sink inside?
A standard unit has a toilet, urinal and sanitizer. A deluxe unit adds a foot-pump flush and a sink with soap and towels.
Is the deluxe one flushable?
The deluxe unit flushes with a foot pump that rinses the bowl with clean blue water. Nothing connects to plumbing.
Do you have separate men's and women's restrooms?
Restroom trailers have separate men's and women's sides. With porta potties, we can label units by sign.
Do you have the porta potty that looks like a trailer inside?
That is a restroom trailer: flush toilets, sinks, mirrors, lights and climate control. A 2-stall trailer suits about 100 to 130 guests.
Do you have a single luxury unit?
The deluxe flushing unit is the single-unit step up. It is popular for small weddings and showers.
Do you have handicap-accessible units?
Wheelchair-accessible units have a ground-level floor, grab bars and a 60-inch turning space. Book them early for weekends.
Do the units lock?
Every unit has an inside lock and occupied sign. For schools and job sites we can fit a padlock hasp so it stays locked overnight.
Do you sell porta potties?
We rent units and do not sell them.
Does a restroom trailer need hookups?
A trailer needs a 110-volt outlet on a 20-amp circuit and ideally a garden hose. Porta potties, deluxe units and handwashing stations need no hookups.
How many do I need
How many people does one porta potty serve?
One standard unit covers about 50 guests for 4 hours, or a crew of up to 20 for a week between services under OSHA's 1-per-20 minimum.
We expect 75 people. Are two toilets right?
Two is right for 75 guests up to about 8 hours. Add a third if alcohol is served.
Is a two-stall trailer enough for 150 wedding guests?
One 2-stall trailer handles about 100 to 130 guests. For 150, add a deluxe unit beside it.
I have 50 to 60 guests and one bathroom in my house. What do I need?
One standard unit keeps guests out of the house for a 4-hour party; two if the party runs long or there is a bar.
How many units for an event spread across several locations?
Count each location as its own cluster, size it for the people there, and include at least 1 accessible unit per cluster.
Placement and access
Where should I tell the driver to put it?
Pick firm, level ground within about 25 feet of where the truck can park, with the door facing away from the street or the party.
Can it go by the trash cans on the side of my house?
A side yard by the trash cans is often ideal: level, close to the drive and out of sight. Leave room to open the door.
Can you put it on grass?
Firm, level grass works. After heavy rain we may place it on the driveway edge so the truck does not rut the lawn.
Will gates be a problem?
A unit is about 44 inches wide, so gates need about 48 inches of clear opening. Tell us about locks and gate codes.
Do I need a permit?
Private property usually needs none. Public events, parks and anything on a street or sidewalk usually need a city permit; check with your city or venue.
Is my HOA going to object?
Many HOAs allow a temporary unit for a remodel or party but limit how long it stays visible. Ask your HOA, and we can place it beside the garage.
Can it go inside a garage?
Units are not placed inside garages or buildings because of odor and the need for truck access. Just outside the garage door works well.
Booking, payment and changes
Do I have to pay to book?
A card payment holds the unit and the truck. Changes and cancellation are free up to 24 hours before delivery.
Do you take a deposit instead of full payment?
We take the rental payment at booking rather than a separate deposit, and refund it in full if you cancel more than 24 hours ahead.
Can you send me a quote by email or text to share?
We email or text a written quote you can forward to a spouse, boss, committee or project manager.
Can you invoice my company with a PO number?
Approved contractor and business accounts can be invoiced with a PO number. Call to set up an account.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel or change dates free up to 24 hours before delivery. After that, the delivery charge may apply.
Can I change the weekend after I book?
Date changes are free up to 24 hours before delivery, subject to availability on the new date.
If the job finishes early, will you pick up early?
Call and we pick up on the next route day. Monthly billing stops at pickup.
Who will my receipt come from?
Receipts come from Kingston Portable Toilets Rental, the same company that delivers and services the unit.
Emergencies and special cases
Our toilet broke and the party is in a few hours. Can you help?
Call right away. We tell you the earliest delivery window on the call.
Our septic failed. Can I get a unit while it is repaired?
A monthly rental covers septic repairs; keep it as long as the work takes.
Our store's water is shut off. Can you set units in the parking lot?
We deliver to parking lots for plumbing outages, often with a handwashing station. Tell us how many staff and customers use it.
Do you provide restroom trailers for emergency shelters?
Restroom trailers and handwashing stations can be set up for shelters, evacuations and water-main breaks. Call with the location and head count.
Do you work in winter?
We rent all year. In freezing weather we add antifreeze treatment to the tanks; heated trailers suit winter events.
